Our mission here at Better Than Yours Inc. is to offer wholesome, nutritive snacks to EVERY American; whether their address happens to be on “Wall”, “Main”; or any other street in the U.S. Everyone has the right to choose to consume food from the natural world; as opposed to some’ thing’, that was created in a test tube somewhere, in a blind pursuit of profits. We are going to accomplish this by offering our USDA certified Organic protein snacks, at  the same price points; as those of the current, artificially flavored & preserved meat snack régime & in doing so; we will tear down the curtain that, shields today’s business model of (Most), U.S. food manufacturing corporations. Therefore, even though our meat, our gourmet marinades and our tenderizing, slow cook method are much more expensive; The Jerky Kids™ beef jerky company, our Distributors and the Stores have agreed to “Play Chess”, i.e. accept a smaller profit margin, (betting on Americans’ desire to create health; thereby escaping the fallout created by the iniquitous marriage, which has been evolving since the ‘70’s; between America’s Food & Pharmaceutical industries. Currently, USDA Organic/REAL-FOOD is simply cost prohibitive for 9 out of 10 American families. Do you remember when you were in college, hanging out with your friends, dreaming about your future and saying that; “when I have my business someday; I’m going to do it the RIGHT WAY; by helping, not hurting people” well; my name is Jeremy Mayfield, President & CEO of The Jerky Kids™ beef jerky Company and I do remember those late night philosophical conversations from my college days. So I went out and presented the idea to 25 like minded friends of mine; who believed in me enough to clear out their savings accounts, or take out 2nd mortgages on their homes in January of ‘09; only heartbeats removed from our economies’ worst financial climate since 1929.  Together with my unparalleled tenacity, my partners’ individual skill sets & monetary support; we ‘WILL’ make a difference; as opposed to merely profit; at the detriment of our customers’ health

Why doesn’t The Jerky Kids™ use MSG or hydrolyzed proteins in our jerky?

Because we here at The Jerky Kids™ believe that, it is at ‘Best’; a shameful business practice to place corporate profit, above the health and well being of American families…

By choosing to use generous portions of cilantro, garlic, ginger, Rosemary, and other natural ingredients with our top round steak, we do not need to lace our jerky with “toxins and carcinogens” in order to enhance the flavor.

The Dirty Dozen

When grocery shopping, one would be wise to buy organic, “Dirty Dozen” produce.
Pesticide levels vary in produce. Foods that take a long time to grow, have higher pesticide levels & foods that are higher in sugar content; that tend to attract bugs and insects and as a result, are sprayed more frequently.
The Environmental Workers Union analyzed a large number of foods and found that you can reduce risks of pesticide exposure by as much as 90%, by avoiding “The Dirty Dozen”; or the top 12 produce items with the highest levels of pesticide residue.
